Welcome to the 2025/2026 academic year

Double room 4-8

Another academic year is ahead of us, and our rooms will soon fill up with old and new residents. Over 450 students have lived in our rooms in our 20 years of work. Ideal conditions for study and progress are what we see as our mission, which is why many have stayed with us all the way from fresher to graduate.

Here are the main things we would like to point out so that everyone's stay is as pleasant as possible, and productivity and academic success as high as possible.

Room handover

Handovers take place at the agreed time and last no more than 10 minutes. Together with our staff you go through the condition of the room, note any defects and both sign the handover record. Our system holds photos of all furniture and equipment, so any change in condition is recorded straight away.

Handovers are by booked appointment only. Slots last 15 minutes, and anyone who misses theirs waits for the next free one. Booking applies only to students moving into a room for the first time from 1 October 2025 – residents who are staying on do not need to book anything; we simply check the condition of their room.

House rules

Following the house rules is the basis of good, pleasant living in a shared space. Please pay close attention to all of them – you can download the house rules on the portal. Breaches of the house rules are sanctioned with warnings and, ultimately, termination of the contract in line with the general terms.

Fair play

Fair play covers everything to do with shared spaces – bathrooms, kitchens and the common room. Nobody wants to find a dirty kitchen, scattered rubbish or an untidy toilet left by someone else. Just as you would not want others to do that to you, do your very best not to do it to anyone else.

Cleaning rota

Shared spaces are cleaned according to a rota, on the principle of equality: everyone cleans in their own slot. Whoever is on duty is responsible for keeping that space tidy and should check from time to time that nobody has left it in a mess. The rota is posted in visible places and on our portal. Before their week ends, the person on duty cleans according to the shared-space cleaning procedure, which is also on the portal. If the cleaning is not done, a cleaning service does it and the cost is charged to the resident who did not do their part.

Common room and shared kitchen (Vinkovačka 29)

The student house at Vinkovačka 29 has a common room where all students from that address get together. Everyone must keep it tidy and clean up after themselves. Private gatherings are not allowed, but birthday parties and the like are – as long as everyone is invited. Quiet hours start at 10 pm, after which only quiet activities are allowed in the common room (watching TV, playing cards and the like, without noise). Everyone uses the shared kitchen, so wash, put away and clean everything you have used.

Complaints about housemates

Sort out minor disagreements among yourselves. But if someone repeatedly disturbs others' studying, leaves a mess, does not clean when it is their turn or makes others feel uncomfortable, feel free to report it to us through the portal or at podrska@discipula.hr – that is not telling tales, it is making things better for everyone. Important: if we find a space untidy because someone else did not do their part and we did not know about it, the sanctions will fall on you, not on the person actually responsible.

Communication

All communication with us is electronic. Our main channel is the portal at portal.discipula.hr, which you sign in to with the Vaco Token app. Through the portal you report all faults and problems, see your balance and issued invoices, and download documents.

If you have questions the portal does not answer, write to podrska@discipula.hr – only from the e-mail address given in your contract, otherwise your message is very likely to end up in spam.

For emergencies – major damage, fire, flooding – our emergency caretaker is available on +385 91 215 3405. This number is for emergencies only, when water is leaking or there is a serious fault that needs fixing urgently.

Smoking, bikes and e-scooters

  • Smoking: smoking any tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, is strictly forbidden inside our buildings. You may smoke only outdoors, in the courtyard.
  • Bikes: are kept outside the building only, in the places set up for them. Bringing a bike inside is sanctioned with a flat-rate fine under the house rules.
  • Battery vehicles: scooters, e-bikes and the like must not be charged from sockets, especially not in the rooms. We are preparing charging points for bikes and scooters outside the building.

Important for signing in to the portal

You can sign in to the portal only with the mobile number we have on record. If you have not given us your mobile number or have changed it, let us know at podrska@discipula.hr.
